Details of Quentin Tarantino's ninth feature 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' has been released. Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are the first people attached to the film. Both will play Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth, one (DiCaprio) a struggling actor who formerly worked on a Western TV series, and the other (Pitt) his stunt double.
The story takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood, and sees the two characters struggle to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate.
Margot Robbie and Tom Cruise are also been circled to join the cast.
In a statement, Tarantino said,
“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”Filming is set to begin in June, with a release date slated for August 9th, 2019.
