Warners Love That Joker!

In a surprising move Warner Brothers is developing a spin off solo Joker film unconnected with the current DC cinematic universe and have enlisted the help of Todd Phillips to co-write a script with 8 Mile scribe Scott Silver. Phillips will direct the movie, and Martin Scorsese will produce it with Phillips. No confirmation as yet but it appears Leonardo DiCaprio is front runner for the Joker.

The film will be a gritty and grounded hard-boiled crime film set in early-’80s Gotham City detailing the rise to power of the prince of crime. Its set to be the first in a series of stand alone films featuring DC characters but not set in the current DCEU.

Meanwhile Jared Leto will be busy being the man in purple for the DCEU as he's set to be
four DC projects including an untiled Joker and Harley Quinn movie, 'Suicide Squad 2,' possibly the 'Gotham City Sirens' spin off and a role in 'The Batman!'
