Creator Mitch Hurwitz announced the news while attending an Arrested Development cast reunion at the New Yorker Festival.
The mini-season will reportedly focus on where the show's characters are now, in order to reacquaint the audience with the series which has been off the air since 2006, before the impending movie.
Will Arnett, later tweeted:
"I'm peeing with @batemanjason at the moment..and we can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie."
