DC Entertainment President Addresses Movie Rumours

DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson addressed the recent stories that Christopher Nolan is overseeing a new Superman movie and the supposed planned Watchmen sequel rumour.

On Christopher Nolan taking a 'godfather' type role for a new Superman film:
"Wouldn't you like to know!"

"We don't have any plans about that, and as I've mentioned, in the coming months we'll be making a lot of announcements about what our content plans will be, but right now, that's nothing but rumor — and we frankly don't say a whole lot more about rumor than that, so..."
On the possibility of a Watchmen sequel:
"No, that's all rumor," she said. "I'm not sure where it came from. We'll be looking closely at our whole library and making sure we're looking for opportunities to mine every property where it makes sense, and with integrity, but that's just rumor."

"No, there are no plans to do that!"

Tarantino Reveals Western Details

Quentin Tarantino has disclosed some details on his proposed Western, saying:
'I'd like to do a Western, But rather than set it in Texas, have it in slavery times. With that subject that everybody is afraid to deal with. Let's shine that light on ourselves.'

He added: 'You could do a ponderous history lesson of slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad. Or you could make a movie that would be exciting.'

'Do it as an adventure. A spaghetti Western that takes place during that time. And I would call it a 'Southern'.

Updated: WTF? Martin Scorsese NOT Remaking 'Taxi Driver' With Lars von Trier

What the flip? Copenhagen film magazine Ekko are reporting the unbelievable rumour that Martin Scorsese and Lars von Trier are teaming up to remake 'Taxi Driver' and they are casting Robert De Niro in the lead again?

There has been talk at the Berlin Film Festival of De Niro and Scorsese reteaming with Scorsese saying:
'So what’s new? "Bob De Niro and I are talking about something that has to do with that world,'

'There's no doubt about that. We're working on something like that, but it's from the vantage point of older men looking back, none of this running around stuff.'
UPDATE: Lars von Trier's producer Peter Aalbaek Jensen has dismissed the rumour saying:
"I have seen it [the story] in the Danish film magazine and what is written there is not true."
