First grainy look at the prequel to John Carpenter's horror classic 'The Thing.' Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eric Christian Olsen Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ulrich Thomsen, Jonathan Walker, Stig Henrik Hoff and Kim Bubbs.Set before the events of the 1982 film, the discovery of an alien craft at a Antarctica research site leads to a confrontation between graduate student Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and scientist Dr. Sander Halvorson (Ulrich Thomsen). While Dr. Halvorson keeps to his research, Kate partners with Sam Carter(Joel Edgerton), a helicopter pilot, to pursue the alien life form.
Update: 'The Thing' will open in US cinemas on October 14, 2011.
