THR has news that now Universal is now taking the reins on the 'Where's Wally?' (Where's Waldo In America)adaptation. The studio has picked up the movie rights to the popular children's books series from Classic Media with the aim of making a live-action family film to be produced by Chris Meledandri's Illumination Entertainment.
Created by illustrator Martin Handford, the books featured Waldo, dressed in a red-and-white shirt, wearing glasses and carrying a walking stick, as he popped up in crowded full-page scenes.
How will they make this into a film, who knows but I think you'd be going the right way getting Paul Greengrass on it and Matt Damon as Wally and have it a cat and mouse game where Wally is an ex spy on the run from the C.I.A, for a crime he didn't commit.
