Michael Sheen is reportedly in talks to play the villain in the next James Bond film. The actor has been approached to take on the role of iconic bad guy Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
"Michael is hot property right now and it's felt he's the man to bring Blofeld back to life," a source said. "Michael was a Bond fan in his youth, so this would be a dream role for him."
Sheen, 40, would re-team with writer Peter Morgan if reports prove to be true, the duo have previously worked together on The Deal, The Queen, Frost/Nixon and The Damned United.
The leader of global criminal organisation SPECTRE was seen in six previous Bond films, where he was played by actors including Donald Pleasence, Charles Gray and Telly Savalas.
Max Von Sydow starred as Blofield in unofficial 007 outing Never Say Never Again in 1983. However, the last legitimate appearance of the character on screen was in For Your Eyes Only in 1981.
