German star Til Schweiger will play a member of the Nazi killer team, bloodthirsty maniac Hugo Stiglitz, the German-born member of Lt. Aldo Raine's American squad of angry, vengeful Nazi-killing Jews, or Wilhelm Wicki, an Austrian-born American Jew that Raine has taken into the the same squad.Also aboard the project is Daniel Brühl ("The Bourne Ultimatum"), Brühl may be playing the wily Gestapo major Dieter Hellstrom, or perhaps Nazi sniper-hero Frederick Zoller.
The Weinstein Co./Universal co-production starts shooting Oct. 13 in Germany, with the plan to debut at the Festival de Cannes in May. The Weinstein Co. and Universal are co-financing and co-presenting the film, with Lawrence Bender producing and Erica Steinberg, Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein executive producing.
