Irish director Jim Sheridan is to bring Robert Graves' novel 'I, Claudius' to the big screen.
THR says that Sheridan will write the screenplay for the film about the Roman emperor with collaborator Nye Heron.
'I, Claudius' was adapted into a 1937 Josef von Sternberg film and also became a BBC miniseries in the 1970s.
Sheridan's new film, 'Brothers', which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman, will be released later this year.
