Christopher Mintz-Plasse is in talks to star in comic adaptation Kick-Ass, according to
The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on Mark Millar's comic series, the story revolves around a high school geek who reinvents himself as a costumed vigilante.
Mintz-Plasse, who shot to fame as McLovin in last year's Superbad, would take on the role of Red Mist, the son of a mobster who wants to uncover the real identity of the protagonist.
Director Matthew Vaughn, the film's co-writer with Jane Goldman, has raised the $30 million budget independently after several studios rejected the project for being too violent.
