Bale Says No Robin

Talking on starpulse Christian Bale has said he would leave the Batman franchise if Robin is ever introduced saying:
If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.
Only right I feel as Robin is a horrible character and if it was up to me he would be killed off.

UPDATE: Jeph Loeb has now stepped into the argument about having Robin in Christopher Nolans Batman films talking to MTV saying
Take the time to tell the story properly,” Loeb said. “There is a story of Dick Grayson and how he becomes Robin that is extremely moving and very helpful. …[Grayson/Robin] doesn’t understand why it is that he needs to do this and Bruce doesn’t understand why he’s doing it either because he’s not a parent. He doesn’t know how to be a parent,” Loeb said. “And together, they make each other better people. So that for me would be the next step.”
Flicks News has a great respect for Jeph Loeb as he did write 3 great Batman graphic novels, The Long Halloween which is hands down the finest representation of Batman and Gotham in comics period, its sequel Dark Victory actually introduces Robin and he does not ruin it and Hush. While I think some of Christain Bale's hate for Robin stems from him losing out the chance to play him in Batman Forever to Chris O'Donnell (the lord moves in mysterious ways) I do think it is the right choice not to included Robin in Batman's world as he is a very unrealistic character. But out of all the Batman stories Bale did read the two that stood out for him where the Long Halloween and Dark Victory talking back in 2005:
But the two [Batman stories] that I liked particularly were Dark Victory and The Long Halloween. They just had some really fantastic imagery in there of the severity of Batman and everything and I would kind of imitate those positions.”
Christopher Nolan also hinted at the possibility of Robin:
I wouldn’t let him become Robin until the third act, if that. I think that’s the other problem when you tell that story is that there’s this rush to put him in a costume by the end of the first 20 minutes and in that case I think it’s a disaster…
So who knows? but who to play him if so well seeing as we are champing Matt Damon as Captain America and David Tennant as The Riddler, Flicks News think's Joseph Gordon-Levitt would make a very cool Boy Wonder if he was to be inclued.
